The Baku City Circuit has been on the Formula 1 calendar since 2016. It runs through the city centre: the start is by the Government House, then a narrow climb along the walls of Icherisheher, and finally a two-kilometre straight along Neftchilar Avenue.
It is on that straight that the highest speeds in Formula 1 history have been recorded, which makes Baku the fastest street circuit on the calendar.
