Nakhchivan is an autonomous republic separated from the rest of Azerbaijan. Its emblem is the Momine Khatun mausoleum, built in 1186 by the architect Ajami Nakhchivani.
The region also holds the Alinja fortress, salt mines and a clinic inside the salt workings.
