In brief
Lotfi Zadeh was born in Baku in 1921 and studied later in Tehran and the United States. In 1965 he published his paper on fuzzy sets.
Fuzzy logic makes it possible to compute with vague notions like “warm”, “fast” or “many” — it is now widely used in engineering and control systems.
